Grounds / Maintenance:

Grounds / Maintenance shifts are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the summer and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the winter. 

Grounds / Maintenance duties include but are not limited to Maintaining Zoo & Aquarium landscaping, building and maintaining zoo & aquarium exhibits, small concrete jobs, simple plumbing, woodwork, simple electric, and irrigation. 

Grounds / Maintenance Requirements: Must be 18 years or older, dependable, honest, patient, able to handle stressful situations, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, able to work alone or in a group, able to lift 50 pounds, have a valid driver’s license.  Know how to operate a chainsaw, mower, hedgers, and weed eaters. 

 

Janitor / Custodian

Janitor / Custodian shift vary by season. 

Janitor / Custodian duties include but are not limited to cleaning gallery floors, exhibit windows, doors, cleaning the restrooms, taking out and picking up trash, cleaning trash cans,  and performing basic restroom plumbing such as using an auger and replacing parts.

•Ability to learn and understand how to properly use and handle various commercial cleaning chemicals and solvents and other specialty cleaning tools/equipment

Guest Relations

Giftshop (Closed):

Giftshop duties include but are not limited to: Selling merchandise to customers, checking in shipments, pricing new merchandise, operating credit card machines, able to handle cash and give change, cleaning stores, cleaning wheelchairs, strollers and wagons, selling and redeeming tickets to customers entering the park, scheduling and checking in-school field trips, answering the phone, handling customer complaints, simple first aid. 

Giftshop Requirements: Must be 18 years or older, dependable, honest, patient, have great communication skills, able to handle stressful situations, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, and able to work alone or in a group. 

 

Animal Attendant (Closed): 

Animal Attendant duties include but are not limited to: Making sure the animals and customers in your area are safe, raking/sweeping, giving change to customers so they may purchase feed for the animals, operating a credit card machine, helping clear the Zoo at the end of your shift. 

Animal Attendant Requirements: Must be18 years or older, dependable, honest, patient, have great communication skills, able to handle stressful situations, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, able to work alone or in a group, able to work in inclement weather. 

 

Ride Operator (Open):

Ride Operator duties include but are not limited to Selling ride tickets to customers, daily ride checks to make sure the rides are safe to operate, operating credit card machines, able to handle cash and give change, assist with help clear the Zoo at the end of your shift. 

Ride Operator Requirements: Must be 18 years or older, dependable, honest, patient, great communication skills, able to handle stressful situations, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, able to work alone or with others able to work in inclement weather.
